What are the qualities that make Lynn great to work with?
Lynn is knowledgeable – While my wife and I had some education around the purchase process, there was much we had to learn. Lynn was pivotal in this. We also had a strategy in mind and Lynn helped us develop it. At first it was around 2 and 3 bedroom condos. When we later pivoted to buying a home, Lynn supported and shaped that too. Our system was to build a pipe of candidate listings and have Lynn review comps, share feedback on the building/ neighborhood, investment viability, future growth, disclosures sent, bid prices etc.
Lynn is responsive – One thing we noticed immediately is how responsive Lynn was. This was key in building trust. We have all had experiences where we’ve waited for replies and calls. With the amount of money involved, having Lynn respond in minutes really helped.
Lynn is proactive – At multiple points in our journey Lynn connected us with the right resources, whether lenders, contractors, lawyers etc. This was great. It resulted from her understanding of our strategy and connecting the dots. She reviewed our loan terms, disclosures and even did some follow ups on earthquake zones, TICs etc for us. Having a realtor who is proactively working on your behalf is incredibly helpful.
Lynn is patient – My wife and I had the expected starts and stops in this journey. Times when we actively went to open houses and times when focused on other priorities. We also lost a few homes, after much time investment and had to start over emotionally. Lynn supported from the sidelines during this.
Lynn is understanding/ accommodating – Lynn helped us greatly with bids and disclosures. However, for the most part my wife and I decided the final numbers and strategy. This led to some interesting negotiations. Lynn worked with us through this as opposed to pushing us on set paths and hurrying to close deals.
Lynn is goal-oriented – Right from our first meeting, Lynn asked about our goals and circumstances. Her focus on the outcome is key as there will be many challenges, set backs, distractions and disappointments along the way. Lynn understands what it means to lose out on that perfect home, but also the need to continue. We experienced exactly this when we lost out on a lovely home after a difficult negotiation. We didn’t think we could find a better one, but we did in the end, just a few weeks later!
Finally, Lynn is a partner – We purchased our home in late 2017. I am writing this review in April 2018. During this time, we have reached out to Lynn multiple times for questions about the house, handymen, taxes etc. Lynn is still just as responsive. We’ve had dinner together and received emails from her regarding pre-paying property taxes. She is more than a realtor. She is a partner who continues to support after you sign.”

This is our second home purchase with Lynn. There are a handful of realtors in the Bay Area, but we chose to work with Lynn again without any hesitation because she is more than excellent.
